The Akwaka Foundation for Missional Leadership and Community Transformation
The foundation is a special tribute to the lasting legacy of Reverend Dr. Alhassan Akwaka. Whose life was spent making the marginalised and deprived lead dignified and meaningful lives. He demonstrated this clearly in his over five decades of service to marginalised and deprived communities and people groups. He deprived himself of comfort, rejected juicy and tempting offers to change course saying he’d rather die on this hill of salvaging marginalised people than seek his own comfort. His generosity is to a fault even to the detriment of his own family. He fully gave his time helping others and there was hardly anything he held back. His legacy is enduring and to ensure its perpetuity, the foundation would facilitate and broaden the work of reaching the marginalised.
Our Key program areas includes:
Leadership training and capacity building
The leadership training and capacity building program program is intended to train Pastors and Church leaders in leadership skills leading to transformational leadership and to build their capacities to handle the enormous and complex tasks before them wisely and effectively. The training by way of seminars/ conferences, etc, would be tailored to specific contextual needs with the aim of giving the most relevant lessons to a given group or place. This would sharpen them up to be great change agents in their ministries and communities
